Jack Brereton MP hosted a pensioners’ and carers’ advice and information fair in Longton on Saturday. Hundreds of pensioners attended to discuss their issues and find out more about the services available locally, with dozens of representatives of the police, charities, voluntary organisations, and even a choir. The event was held at Longton Methodist Central Hall.
Jack said, “I am thrilled that so many people braved the cold and the snow to come along to my pensioners’ and carers’ advice and information fair. Constituents contact me every day to help them with their problems, but I think it is equally important that people know more about the fantastic organisations available locally who can assist in preventing these problems in the first place.
“The fair was a great success, and I enjoyed listening to the views of people from the local area. Many told me they were previously unaware of the support and services that are on offer locally. I will certainly be hosting another fair in the future to help more people access these organisations.”
