Stoke-on-Trent South MP Jack Brereton urges locals to stick to the lockdown rules and guidance, as Government figures show Coronavirus cases have risen 13% in the week to Jan 9th in the city.
Cases are beginning to drop in London, Essex, and Kent as the areas worst hit by the new strain of the Coronavirus see the benefits of strict adherence, stats showing movement in these areas was at its lowest since the first lockdown.
With the vaccine rolling out, locals are urged to make one last effort to stop the spread of the virus before the vaccine becomes available to all vulnerable groups. 3.23 million vaccines have been given out as of today, putting us well on track to vaccinating by mid- February all the most vulnerable people; carers, care home residents, front line hospital staff, and the over-75's.
Jack Brereton MP said:
It's been a tough year for us all. However we can now see the light at the end of the tunnel. Please help us get there all the quicker by sticking like glue to the guidelines and laws that have worked in the past: stay home, wear a mask, social distance, and wash your hands more often.
If we continue to do this we shall get through this together.
