Jack Brereton, MP for Stoke-on-Trent South, and Cllr Craig Beardmore, city councillor for Meir Hay, today hosted a litter pick with local volunteers in Meir Hay.
Fifteen volunteers picked up a total of 30 bags of litter in the Amison Street area, despite freezing temperatures.
Craig said:
“It was great to see such a good turnout in such horrendous weather. It shows a really good commitment to the community from local volunteers. People are rightly proud of where we live and ensuring it remains clean and tidy is really important.”
Jack said:
“Keeping our communities clean and tidy is so important, it was great to see people coming out to support the Spring clean. The more we can all do to pick up litter and encourage people not to drop litter in the first place the better our city will be for everyone living and visiting here.”
