Jack Brereton, MP for Stoke-on-Trent South, today hosted Dr. Liam Fox MP, Secretary of State for International Trade, on a visit to Stoke-on-Trent.
Jack and the Minister discussed manufacturing sector exports with directors and staff at Goodwin International in Newstead, and visited the World of Wedgewood at Barlaston.
Jack said:
“Trade and exports are crucial for many of our world-class manufacturing industries here in Stoke-on-Trent, in pottery and ceramics but also in sectors such as the steel industry. I am determined to ensure that in leaving the European Union we can form new trade relations around the world to export more of the incredible products we produce locally.”
Liam said:
“I was very pleased to meet with John Goodwin and other representatives of Goodwin International. UK exports have seen an annual increase of 13%, with more of this growth in goods than in services. It is really important that we continue to do as much as possible to promote our fantastic British manufacturing industries.”
