Stoke-on-Trent South MP Jack Brereton has today urged the Home Secretary to crack down on psychoactive substances such as Monkey Dust, telling her they needed to be reclassified so the possession and sale of these substances incurs stricter penalties.

“Monkey Dust” has plagued Stoke-on-Trent for almost a decade, ruining lives and damaging communities.

Jack Brereton MP said:

“As an MP in Stoke-on-Trent I hear story after story of lives, families, and communities ruined by Monkey Dust and substances like it. I’m not willing to stand by and let this continue.

I am glad the Home Secretary heard my request today, and I will certainly continue to push for stricter legislation on these drugs.”
